- Owner at CoActive Capital. CoActive Capital is an investment fund that specializes in partnering with seasoned real estate sponsors to acquire commercial multi-family real estate.

- CEO & Co-Founder at Rappora (Acquired by CareSwitch). Rappora was a Vertical SaaS offering for the non-medical home care industry. We helped agency owners manage and grow their businesses by providing digital timesheets, caregiver scheduling, care tracking, and payroll processing tools.

My short-series health care podcasts:
In 2018 and 2019 I launched two short-series podcasts that sought to document the experiences of two relatively unknown members of the healthcare ecosystem: family caregivers and patient advocates.
- The Family Caregiver Podcast: On the FCG Podcast I interview Family caregivers and document their personal stories. Family caregivers are individuals who care for a sick, elderly or disabled loved one.
- The Patient Advocate Podcast: On the Patient Advocate Podcast I interview Patient Advocates to better understand who they are, what they do, and how their profession is growing in prevalence. Patient advocates are individuals you can hire to help you navigate complex medical situations such as cancer treatment and end of life planning.

Interesting concept: I often day dream about what the intermediary step will be between where we are today with driving cars and achieving fully autonomous vehicles. I follow Vay closely and love their vision. I highly recommend checking out the product video here.
Interesting space: Alternative investment vehicles and/or platforms are beginning to emerge as attractive options to the tried and true asset classes like stocks and real estate. I have been following and participating in companies like Moonfare, Bonside, and Percent. I find the private equity world to be extremely interesting and it can be fun to (attempt to) step into Stephen Schwarzman’s shoes every now and then.

Interesting terms: I’m a big fan of creative language despite being a fairly poor writer myself. Two terms I have been in love with for years are “Zugzwang” and “Querencia”:
- Zugzwang: (German for “compulsion to move”, pronounced [ˈtsuːktsvaŋ]) is a situation found in chess and other turn-based games wherein one playeris put at a disadvantage because of their obligation to make a move; a player is said to be “in zugzwang” when any legal move will worsen their position.
- Querencia: “A querencia is a place the bull naturally wants to go to in the ring, a preferred locality…It is a place which develops in the course of the fight where the bull makes his home. It does not usually show at once, but develops in his brain as the fight goes on. In this place he feels that he has his back against the wall and in his querencia he is inestimably more dangerous and almost impossible to kill.” — Ernest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon

Things I’ve written
Thoughts on family caregiving:
I became borderline obsessed with the family caregiver space in 2018. I conducted research with family caregivers, mapped out the opportunities I believed existed, and created an early prototype of a product that sought to make it easier to get paid as a family caregiver. The concept never achieved meanginful traction but I had a ton of fun working on this side project!
